Scotland’s theme: Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Now that the summer is arriving and our landscape may be turning desertic…what about a fabulous video of green , green Scotland (did I say green??). Built around the idea that absence makes the heart grow fonder, the film features stunning visuals from Skara Brae in Orkney to Loch Ken in Dumfries and Galloway and from Airlie Monument in Angus to Dunnottar Castle in Aberdeenshire. If you don’t know any of these places, or you miss them….this is the place to discover or remember them…. WATCH HERE

UK: The Painted Hall at Greenwich or Britain’s Sistine chapel…

Restored in 2019, the Painted Hall was painted in the 18th century by Sir James Thornhill. You get to enjoy a 360 degree interactive virtual tour of the 40,000 square feet of walls and ceilings covered in a decorative scheme that depicts 200 figures, including kings and queens and mythological creatures. Even better than being there, you get a full narration by actress Tara Fitzgerald. This baroque masterpiece will hold no secret for you afterwards…

Croatia: Long Distance Love

Walking (virtually) in the old town of Dubrovnik, discovering its limestone streets along the ancient city walls is an unforgettable experience. But there is more to Croatia than Dubrovnik and this gorgeous country is now ready to be revealed thanks to the pages and videos created by the Croatian National Tourist board.  #CroatiaLongDistanceLove. So much information is there from rafting on Zrmanja to see the preparation of traditional Croatian dishes and beverages. After exploring Croatia, it might be your next (non virtual)  destination!

Northern Sweden: visit the Artic or bust!

You may or you may never get to discover the exhilaration of spending time in Northern Sweden in the Aurora Safari camp, located 70 km north of Lulea and the capital of Norbotten county. Through 5 to 20mn videos you will be able to get a true feeling of the adventures with experts guiding you around. What will be your program?

On your first day, you will join Fredrick Broman on a tour of the camp including a traditional Sami Lavu (teepee) where you will learn about the camp and the nature that surrounds it.

On day two, you will go on a nature walk to the Arctic Circle learning about the complex balance of animals and plants as they thrive in the varied conditions and in the afternoon, you will get a different perspective of the Arctic, soaring above on an Arctic Hot Air Balloon flight.

To end ‘the day’, you will arrive at Arctic Retreat, a traditional Arctic luxury log cabin deep in the Lapland wilderness, where your host will take you on a tour before leaving you to enjoy the countryside from an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Finally, you can join local guide Peter Engström on a tour of the Arctic Bath, floating hotel and spa. What a program!!
